Tell Your Members of Congress: Support the Bipartisan YIMBY Act

Right now, after years of working towards this goal, we have the opportunity to finally pass the bipartisan YIMBY Act during this current lame duck period in Congress.

The bill would help remove some of the existing restrictive land use laws that have stifled housing production by requiring Community Development Block Grant recipients to report on their local policies that may be impacting housing production, including restrictive zoning laws. While it won't solve our housing shortage overnight, it's a crucial first step that will make it easier for us to hold local governments accountable for stifling housing production. 

The bill was supposed to be voted on last week, but partisan squabbling prevented it from coming to a vote — but we still have time to get this important bill across the finish line.
