Parson Office of Communications _____________________________________________________________________________________ FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE December 11, 2024 MEDIA ADVISORY Governor Parson Announces Meeting of Missouri's Electoral College Members (JEFFERSON CITY, MO) – Today, Governor Mike Parson announced that Missouri's Electoral College members will meet on Tuesday, December 17 at 2 p.m. at the State Capitol (Senate Lounge) to cast their votes for President and Vice President of the United States. The meeting and subsequent vote of the electors provides the official assignment of Missouri's 10 electoral votes to the candidates for President and Vice President of the United States who received a plurality of the popular vote in Missouri's November 5 General Election. Each of Missouri's electors are bound by honor to vote for the winners of the state's popular vote. Governor Parson signed the Certificates of Ascertainment certifying an abstract of votes cast during the General Election certified to him from each county in the state of Missouri and certifying that each of Missouri’s electors received votes qualifying them to vote in the Electoral College. These certificates were signed on December 9, attested to by the Secretary of State, and transmitted to the Archivist of the United States. There will be original Certificates of Ascertainment provided to the electors at the meeting during the certification of votes for President and Vice President. The meeting of the electors will be held in the Senate Lounge at the State Capitol. Media and guests should arrive by 1:45 p.m., so they can be seated before the electors arrive. The meeting will be livestreamed on the State of Missouri's Facebook Page. An overflow room to view the livestream will be located in Joint Committee Hearing Room 117.
