Dear John,
Washington, D.C., and our nation are preparing for a new Congress and presidential administration. In this season of change, I believe that the Lord has given us an opportunity to renew our nation's commitment to faith, family, and freedom all across the country, and I'm hopeful that the church, followers of Jesus Christ, will awaken to this opportunity and make the most of it for the glory of God.
Even as we prepare for a change in national leadership, FRC isn't waiting to focus on faith, family, and freedom. Since 1983, we've educated members of Congress on pressing threats to biblical values, and that includes threats during the current lame-duck session.
I am talking with members of Congress each day and when our policy discussions are over, I will end most of our conversations in prayer. In fact, this year, I sent a letter to every member of Congress to let them know that I'm praying for them and to encourage them to govern in a biblical manner. I also included a booklet detailing the biblical characteristics of godly leadership.
Our elected leaders have a difficult job and are serving in an immensely significant time in our nation's history. As believers, we need to pray for them and encourage them to turn to the Bible for godly wisdom that can solve today's problems in ways that human reason cannot.
This is just one of the ways we at FRC are directly ministering to our leaders and equipping them to seek God as they govern our nation. Just listen to what some members of Congress have had to say about Family Research Council:
Rep. Dan Bishop (NC-8): "FRC reaches out across the country. But it also [has a] pervasive reach on Capitol Hill... [representing] the spirit of the Lord in Washington, D.C. -- a place that needs it more than anywhere on earth."
Rep. Tom Tiffany (WI-7): "Family Research Council is irreplaceable in terms of the work that they do to help us. ... Every day they're out there... to defend people of faith and, really, the founding principles of this country."
Rep. Brian Babin (TX-36): "We couldn't do it without groups like Family Research Council."
Your support is what makes this possible! As our lawmakers face pivotal choices that will shape our nation, we must remind them of what is good, true, and just.
As we near the end of the year, you can have twice the impact on Capitol Hill thanks to our $1.5 Million Year-End Challenge Match -- meaning your tax-deductible gift will be doubled until December 31!

DOUBLE YOUR GIFT
Through FRC's faithful witness, we are influencing our nation's leaders, helping to shape policy discussions from a biblical perspective, and ensuring that those in positions of power are equipped with the tools they need to lead with integrity.
But we aren't just ministering to members of Congress and other elected officials. We're planting seeds across America for the future. God's special providence has blessed that effort in remarkable ways. In fact, here's something you probably didn't know about the fruit of seeds planted years ago.
Before Rep. Mike Johnson became Speaker of the House in October 2023, thousands of Americans across the country joined FRC in praying that a person of God would take up the gavel. Speaker Johnson was our answer to prayer. But long before Speaker Johnson started his political career, fresh out of law school, Mike attended the God and Government seminar that I taught at local churches when I was in the Louisiana Legislature.
Mike has said that the seminar was a part of his journey into the political arena and his stand for the biblical values that you and I share.
Speaker Johnson isn't the only story like that, either. Representative Mary Miller (IL-15) recently told us, "When I was a young mom, back on the farm decades ago, I was encouraged by [FRC's] ministry and their radio [program]...so, before I even got [to Washington], they impacted me about the importance of family and biblical truth."
Our ministry even extends beyond Washington, D.C., into state capitals and legislatures. Representative Josh Brecheen (OK-2) told us, "When I was in the Oklahoma state legislature years ago, we had a measure , and two of the staffers with FRC... helped me get information to be able to have the best position, the best talking points, the most research to be prepared in the debates."
By partnering with FRC, you're enabling us to share truth with those in power and act as an unwavering advocate for a biblical worldview. You're also helping us plant seeds for new leaders who will answer the call to defend faith, family, and freedom.
Right now, we face a critical $4 Million Year-End budget goal. Thanks to a generous $1.5 Million Challenge Match by friends of FRC, your gift will have double the impact, ensuring that we can continue this vital work with twice the resources in 2025.
MAKE 2X THE IMPACT
And remember, for your gift of any size, we'll send you a digital resource explaining the true history behind Saint Nicholas!
Right now, there's a lot of division on Capitol Hill, and these final weeks of 2024 could set the tone for the coming months.
We must continue praying for our current leaders during this critical lame-duck session and start praying for our new leaders who will take up the baton come January.
As the apostle Paul said, "First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth" (1 Tim. 2:1-4).
Thank you for standing with us and being part of this mission that is bringing hope and serving as a prophetic voice in our nation's capital.
May God bless you and your family throughout this Christmas season, and fill you with hope and peace.
