You might be wondering how an organization like VoteVets went from this ad, back in 2006...

...to becoming one of the largest and most successful organizations in politics in 2024.

Well, it started in the Iraq War. Bush and his administration lied us into that war. They sent us out with no strategy, and without the equipment we needed. Thousands were killed, and thousands more wounded. After we came back, a generation of Veterans was forced to live with that war for the rest of their lives.

Frankly, we were pretty pissed. So we came home and raised hell. We were told that Republicans owned the Military. They owned Veterans. They owned the flag, and patriotism. But we came back and found a hell of a lot of Veterans were just as pissed as we were, and we organized.

We made it our mission to take the fight to the GOP on ground they thought was safe — and beat them.

Over the years, we fought for the things that matter most to us. We fought to support our Active Duty, to make sure they got what they needed. We fought to make sure Veterans and their families were provided for when they came home. We fought to end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

We’ve had setbacks along the way, but we’ve also had incredible victories. The wars are over. We ended “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.” We’ve stopped every single attempt to privatize the VA and sell off care to the lowest bidder, and we’ve helped get improvements to efficiency and expanded care signed into law. We passed the PACT Act, and now millions of Veterans are getting treatment for the toxic exposures they were forced to endure overseas.

Most importantly, we’ve defeated more Republicans and pro-war, anti-veteran candidates than we can count over the last 20 years. Because of our work, thousands and thousands of Veterans are serving at every level of government.

And now, we’re gearing up for a second Trump administration.

Some of us served in Vietnam, or the Gulf War, or the Global War on Terror. We’ve been through it — and we got through it together. It’s more important than ever that we stick up for ourselves, for our communities, and for what’s right.

Trump and the billionaires he’s filling his administration with are setting their sights on the VA. They aim to slash billions in care for Veterans.

VoteVets is one of the only organizations standing in their way, and if we’re going to stop them, we need your help.

Please, whether you’ve had our back in the past or you’re just getting started now, one of the most impactful things you can do to fight back against Trump and his administration is to make a donation to VoteVets as we put our strategy for 2025 and beyond together. Chip in $20 or whatever you can.
