John, we are in a season of reflection and wanted to quickly touch base to bring more context into the work we do and what your support actually does on the ground. Especially seeing as this last cycle showed us just how much of an uphill battle women candidates have against male opponents.

From my perspective, what we saw and learned in 2024 increases the urgency and importance of securing early dollars.

Early dollars make a campaign viable and lay the groundwork for a competitive strategy. The earlier the dollars come in, the more intentional you can be with allocations for specific uses, whether that’s digital outreach, staffing, voter contact, events, or volunteer support.

And as crazy as it seems so soon after the election, right now is the moment candidates are stepping up and getting ready to run again. Their first finance reports will be due in just a few short months, and the numbers are a huge factor in determining who gets to move forward, especially against well-funded GOP candidates.

We also have enough evidence to assume women candidates will need to raise more than their male counterparts in order to compete.

We know it’s safest for women candidates to aim for double the financial support. And that’s exactly why we’re here, and why we’re starting early. So if you want to make your dollars count the most, rush a donation today to help us start cutting checks to our first candidates of the 2026 cycle as they’re getting their campaigns off the ground >> [[link removed]]DONATE NOW [[link removed]]

In moments like these, we can see the importance of groups like A Woman’s Place. We are securing funds for candidates to swiftly set up their campaign committees and hit the ground running in advance of their first quarter reporting. An effort that often takes months to plan and build for, and candidates need all the help they can get. We’re grateful to have you as a part of this team.

Thanks,

Mary Gay
