Dear John, behind every smile, there is a story waiting to be told. This year, we witnessed bright smiles all around the country from kids who are getting the meals they need to thrive. But what’s truly behind those smiles?

Elena’s Story

When 8-year-old Elena’s school closed for summer break, the meals she had access to there disappeared. Our advocacy efforts helped families like hers more easily access summer meals outside of school, and our efforts were all fueled by supporters like you.

Ethan’s Story

Ensuring millions of kids have the meals they need requires many hands. Our work wouldn’t be possible without the volunteers, the cafeteria workers, the food bank staff and the leaders that show up every day for kids. That includes youth ambassadors like Ethan in Jamestown, New York.

Portia's Story

Our work to help feed children also goes hand in hand with our work to address the root causes of hunger — including low wages and high food costs. That’s why we’re partnering with organizations helping families — particularly those helping single moms — achieve financial security. When moms like Portia in Minneapolis thrive, so do their children.
