MI Healthy Climate Plan Virtual Listening Sessions
Repairing and decarbonizing homes and businesses
December 18, 6:00 PM
The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) is hosting a series of virtual listening sessions on the priority action areas included in the Michigan Healthy Climate Plan (MHCP). Building off previous work and input, we’re continuing to prioritize and deepen our work on implementation through these listening sessions. We want to hear from you—whether you're a community member, work in local or state government, represent a nonprofit, business, or another group. Your input will help shape Michigan’s future climate actions.
Join us on December 18 to share your ideas and learn more about the state's goals for "repairing and decarbonizing homes and businesses,” including these priority action areas:
-
Building Electrification: Transitioning existing homes and businesses to clean energy, with special support for low-income communities and those using fuels like propane or heating oil.
-
Energy-Saving Upgrades: Making homes more energy-efficient through repairs, electrical updates, weatherization, and other improvements to cut fossil fuel use—ensuring equitable access for all.
-
Decarbonizing Public Buildings: Reducing emissions and energy waste in government and nonprofit facilities, focusing on solutions that benefit disadvantaged communities.
The session starts with an introduction by EGLE’s Office of Climate and Energy, followed by public comments (3 minutes per person).
Your voice matters! Don’t miss this chance to help shape implementation of the MI Healthy Climate Plan.
