Nathaniel’s mom was incarcerated. Even as a young child, he would often worry about how she was doing, wondering if she was even alive. He wanted to know she was okay, and more importantly, he wanted a good relationship with her. The separation of prison made this difficult.
But on Christmas day, there was a present from his mom under the tree.
“It felt really good to have that gift from [Mom],” says Nathaniel, “The best thing was knowing she was doing well. … [Angel Tree] is my most special Christmas memory.”
There are approximately
1.5 million children like Nathaniel in America facing the pain of having a parent in prison. Like all children, they want a connection with their parent.
You can
bring back hope this Christmas for children with parents behind bars. Even though mommy and daddy can’t be home, their presence can still be felt. Don’t let these precious children experience Christmas without knowing there is someone out there who cares!
This Christmas, you can make hope possible for these hurting children—starting with a simple gift!
Your generous gift to Prison Fellowship Angel Tree can help bridge the gap between prisoners and their families. Angel Tree creates a
pathway for prisoners to strengthen and restore relationships with their children and families, helping children avoid the cycle of brokenness that too often passes from one generation to the next. When you donate, you help create a cycle of restoration.
In addition to restoring hope, your gift to Angel Tree will include:
- A Christmas gift selected specifically for the child.
- A note written from the child’s incarcerated parent.
- The chance to hear the real reason for the season: the story of Jesus’ birth!
- An opportunity to receive a beautiful, illustrated, full-text children’s Bible. The Bibles are available in English and Spanish.
- A lasting impact that extends beyond the holiday season. Through your generosity, you help show the love of Jesus to children with a parent in prison all year!
You can make a child’s Christmas hopeful again.
Your gift of $300 will help provide this opportunity for 10 children with a parent in prison.
Give today to change a child’s Christmas—and life!
