The Northeast Assistive Technology site will open on Monday, December 16th. They are located at 712 S. Dear Stakeholders,

We are pleased to announce that the Kansas Department of Aging and Disabilities (KDADS) will launch two Requests for Applications (RFAs) on December 10, 2024, offering up to $10 million in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding for Supportive Technology and Self-Advocacy. Applications will be accepted from December 10 to January 10, 2025. All questions and concerns must be submitted by December 16, and responses will be provided by December 18.

Supportive Technology

Eligible applicants include local government councils, care facilities, KDADS-certified providers, Kansas tech companies, and organizations focused on tech solutions for individuals aged 0–22 receiving Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS). This grant aims to enhance independence, person-centered care, community participation, educational access, and job opportunities. More details can be found in the full RFA which is attached below. 

Self-Advocacy

This grant supports existing self-advocacy organizations and new groups partnering with Centers for Independent Living, targeting individuals with disabilities aged 0–22 and those on HCBS waiting lists, especially in underserved communities. Goals include education, empowerment, organizational expansion, partnership development, and legislative advocacy training.
