Cheers to 40 years, and cheers to you!
Last Thursday, we had a bubbly gathering to round out Headwaters' 40th anniversary celebrations. There were snacks from Malcolm Yards, balloons from Mandana's balloon artistry, plants from Apricot Floral, and lots of exciting conversations to go along with it. Whether you joined us for one of our events, diligently read all of our blogs, or made a gift in honor of our 40th, we're just so glad to have you here with us. The Headwaters community continues to inspire us and we're so glad to be connected with you all.

Mark your calendars! Grant round opening in Jan 2025
As we look ahead to the next year, we wanted to give our movement partners a heads-up about a grant round opening in January. Our Black Movement Ecosystem Fund (which will be renamed - announcement to come!) will open grant applications for Black-led organizations in Minnesota in mid-January. Headwaters is excited to continue to build towards a future where we center justice, dignity, and self-determination for Black Minnesotans. Two information sessions will also be announced for applicants interested in learning more about the grant. More information to come in mid-January!

Celebrating your support from Give to the Max Day
Your support on Give to the Max Day helped raise $6,212 for Headwaters! Our donor community is what makes it possible for Headwaters to boldly fund community organizing. Headwaters is proud to resource organizing that is bold, unapologetic, and BIPOC-led. We're also celebrating that over half of our donors who supported us this year were repeat supporters! As we continue to build and be in relationship with our donors, we hope to see any new donors at one of our events next year!

Building strong movements across Minnesota
You may have recently received a mailing from us with an incorrect name associated with your address. Unfortunately, our letters were addressed inaccurately due to a mailing list sorting issue. It was an embarrassment for us, but hopefully you still took time to read the letter? In case you missed the content, we were asking for your continued support and a year-end gift.
If you haven’t already done so, please make a year-end donation to resource community organizing and help build strong movements to advance equity and justice across Minnesota.
It’s been 40 years and Headwaters is here for the long haul. Let’s continue the good work together!

If you try to reach us from Tuesday, Dec 24 through Wednesday, Jan 1, you might not be able to! Headwaters will be closed during that time. We are excited to take some time to rest, reground, and rejuvenate so that we are ready for 2025. Our Annual Report will also be coming in the new year! Keep an eye out for that in mid-January.
