The last time that Donald Trump was elected, our Executive Director, Jean Bruggeman, discussed how his Administration caused harm to survivors.
Trump will be back in office, and we need to make sure that survivors are not harmed.
Immigrants are vulnerable to human trafficking when their visa is controlled by their employer, or they are undocumented. All immigrants, even those with visas, can be manipulated by threats to call ICE and have them deported. When the President is already promising the largest mass deportation in history, traffickers' threats become even more effective.
Congress created a special visa, the T Visa, to protect immigrant victims who report their traffickers to the cops. This life-saving visa has made over 15,000 immigrants and their children safe from abusive traffickers. But under the previous Trump Administration, the government stopped approving T Visas, even for trafficking survivors who were testifying in court. Project 2025 promises to eliminate the T Visa altogether.
FNUSA will fight to protect the T Visa, in court if we must.
We need YOUR help to keep our efforts going. People like you understand that every survivor counts.
Please help protect survivors.
