Friends, 

Today I am asking that Rep. Gregory Meeks joins me for a

debate.

For too long my community has been ignored, overlooked, and

undermined by our leadership. Gregory Meeks has been a

friend to big banks, real estate firms, and Wall Street even as

they continue exploiting our community. 

After 22 years of being in office, Meeks must face the facts.

He sold us out for campaign contributions from corporations like

Blackstone Group, KKR and NASDAQ Inc. He took their

money and allowed them to foreclose on our homes, drive up

rent prices and push us out of our communities. It is time we

have representation that cares more about people than donors. 

I am challenging Rep. Meeks to join me on the virtual debate

stage because the voters of NY-5 deserve to know who their

candidates are ahead of the Democratic Primary on June

23rd. 

Our constituents deserve to know what we stand for and

how we will fight for them in a post-COVID-19 economy.

Things must be done differently after COVID-19 to protect

working families. In an economy that represents working class

people, there is no place for big banks, real estate firms and Wall

Street.
