Congressman Al Green Issues Statement on Fatal Shooting at the United States Postal Service (USPS) Facility in Missouri City
(Houston, TX) — On Tuesday, December 10, 2024, Congressman Al Green issued the following statement regarding the recent fatal shooting at the United States Postal Service (USPS) South Houston Distribution Center in Missouri City, Texas, located within his congressional district:
“In light of the tragic shooting involving a postal service employee, my heart goes out to their family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. I am deeply saddened by the loss of life and the impact it is having on our community. This incident raises serious concerns about security at our facilities, especially at the South Houston Distribution Center,” stated Congressman Al Green. “I had a visit scheduled at the Missouri City facility on this Friday, December 13, 2024. However, out of respect for those grieving, it has been postponed to a later date to be announced. Instead, I and Congresswoman Garcia will meet with high level postal officials, and thereafter hold a press event at the North Houston Regional Processing Center on Friday, December 13, 2024, to discuss postal issues, including the shooting.”
