Congressman Ro Khanna made waves this Sunday on ABC’s This Week.
He connected the dots between the outrage people are expressing around
health insurance company abusive practices and Trump’s naming Elon Musk to
root out waste:
"If you care about efficiency in government, Medicare is 2% administrative
fees. The private insurance? 18% that they're wasting… Medicare is the
most efficient, and [the Trump Administration] should be looking at where
the private health care costs are…We can require a cap on out of pocket
costs. We have to understand people with cancer, with heart disease, with
diabetes, with insurance, aren't getting the care that they need."
Do you believe that we should thank and reward political leaders like Ro
Khanna when they use smart messaging in front of millions of people?

Khanna also talked about other ways of thinking about waste – pointing the
finger at corporate bilking of tax payers and making the case for a strong
government cop on the beat:
"Defense contractors. Look, Lockheed Martin has, with the F-35s, has gone
about $200 billion over…breast pumps being purchased at $1,400 instead of
$200…$150,000 we paid Boeing for soap dispensers. That's the waste they
should go after…They should not touch a penny of Social Security. They
should not touch the CFPB. They should not touch Medicare."
