Dear John,

I wanted to check in to provide you an update on some of what I have been
working on this past week regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.

* This past Friday, the House voted on Speaker Pelosi’s 1,800+ page,
$3,000,000,000,000 "Heroes Act" that included:
1. Cash handouts to people illegally in our country
2. Opening the door to voter fraud, by legalizing ballot harvesting throughout
America andbanning voter ID nationwide

3. Massive prison releases
4. Modifying unemployment insurance in a way that would keep people out of the
workforce for almost another year and block economic growth

This is not how to legislate. This bill was crafted without bipartisanship,
vetting, debate, discussion or compromise, which leaves it dead on arrival.

* Georgetown University and The Lugar Center released its annual Bipartisan
Index <[link removed]> and it was
an honor to beranked the 12th most bipartisan member of the House of
Representatives (out of 437 ranked). I will continue to work to find common
ground on both sides of the political divide to deliver results for Long Island.
* I've been working closely with Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation
to securegenerous donations they continue to provide to our local front line
workers. This past weekend, this great organization donated 80,000 pieces of PPE
in a shipment that included gowns, masks, face shields and hand sanitizer to be
used by our local first responders
<[link removed]>. Working with
Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone and Suffolk County Legislator Rudy
Sunderman, we teamed up to deliver the items toSouth Country Ambulance Company,
North Patchogue Fire Department and Suffolk County Fire, Rescue and Emergency
Services.
* I spent the weekend at Camp David
<[link removed]> with President
Trump and a few of my House GOP colleagues discussing the continued COVID-19
response and the steps we need to take next to get our economy booming again.
As we move forward in our efforts to defeat this virus, our response must
continue to be focused both on public health and our nation’s economy. We are
beginning to see that light at the end of the tunnel.

Be Well, Best Wishes, and Stay Healthy,
