John,
This was a big year for us. We made an exceptional amount of progress: We helped free or exonerate eleven people, helped pass several laws across the country, and grew our innocence movement to nearly 5 million people.
And while we had major wins, we also experienced a profound and unconscionable loss — the execution of Marcellus "Khaliifah" Williams, an innocent man, by the state of Missouri. Marcellus' death serves as a stark reminder of the work that still needs to be done and the true life-or-death importance of our movement to free the innocent. That’s why we can’t waste the opportunity we have right now to make a meaningful impact in 2025 and beyond.
From now until midnight on Dec. 31, a generous donor will DOUBLE MATCH every gift to help us reach our $35,000 match goal. John: Will you make a year-end gift right now — while $100 becomes $200! — to help us continue our work to free the innocent and prevent wrongful convictions?

At the Innocence Project, we’re working toward creating a more fair and equitable criminal legal system for everyone. And here’s how:
We use DNA and other scientific advancements to prove innocence and are committed to helping each person we represent rebuild their life post-release from prison.
We work to fix the inequities and failings that lead to wrongful convictions, alongside policymakers, supporters, and partner organizations.
We fight to strengthen the innocence movement with innocence organizations and advocates around the world.
Our work would not be possible without you and your commitment to criminal and racial justice reform, John. So please: Will you make a tax-deductible gift that will go twice as far in helping free innocent people, preventing wrongful convictions, and advancing the innocence movement? Every gift made before Dec. 31 will be double matched to help us reach our $35,000 match goal.

The Innocence Project works to free the innocent, prevent wrongful convictions, and create fair, compassionate, and equitable systems of justice for everyone. Founded in 1992 by Barry C. Scheck and Peter J. Neufeld at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University, the organization is now an independent nonprofit. Our work is guided by science and grounded in anti-racism.
