This past Wednesday, we had the privilege of coming together to celebrate five incredible changemakers at the City of Justice Awards Dinner. We were honored to recognize Ada F. Briceño , Susan Minato , and Kurt Petersen , Co-Presidents of UNITE HERE Local 11; Jackie Goldberg , LAUSD Board President; and Laurie Traktman , Partner and Shareholder, Gilbert & Sackman.

Each of this year's honorees is a champion of justice and a relentless advocate for change. Their work embodies the spirit of good trouble , and we are deeply grateful for the positive impact they have made in our communities.

As we heard during last week’s program, LA City Council is poised to vote on an Olympic Wage this week! This is a historic opportunity for the city to ensure airport and hotel workers are healthy and housed and can afford to live in the city where they work, especially as LA prepares to host the 2028 Olympics.
