BlackRock is one of the largest drivers of Amazon destruction, given its heavy investment in both fossil fuels and deforestation commodities in the region. In January, BlackRock claimed it would put climate at the center of its business, but so far those promises just look like a lot of hot air. BlackRock has no real accountability measures in place and it has failed to make any commitments that address its ties to Amazon crude extraction or deforestation.

We will not let BlackRock continue to finance the violation of indigenous rights and the destruction of the Amazon. It's time for a People's Assembly on BlackRock.

THERE'S STILL TIME TO REGISTER FOR THE ONLINE PEOPLE'S ASSEMBLY ON BLACKROCK »

On May 20th, the day before BlackRock's important annual shareholder meeting, join frontline leaders including indigenous Amazon Watch partners Helena Gualinga, Wrays Perez, and Eloy Terena, as well as Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, writer and climate activist Bill McKibben, and several artists and campaigners to discuss solutions to BlackRock's big climate and human rights problems.

Speakers will detail how the world's biggest investor continues to pour billions into the companies making the climate crisis worse, despite its widely-publicized commitments. We will also hear inspiring stories from leaders on the front lines of the growing global campaign to change finance, explore innovative solutions BlackRock can take to live up to its own rhetoric on climate leadership, and how we can take action to ensure that it implements these solutions.

Register now for the People's Assembly on BlackRock on Wednesday, May 20th, at 10 am Pacific / 1 pm Eastern.

We hope to see you there!
