TELL THE U.S. SENATE: Trump wants to put Dr. Oz in control of Medicare and
Medicaid, but Dr. Oz has a long list of financial entanglements with Big
Pharma and health insurance companies. He also wants to destroy Medicare
as we know it. Sign the petition: Protect Medicare — reject Dr. Oz’s
nomination to lead the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services!

Hi,
Dr. Oz has no business becoming the head of the Centers for Medicare &
Medicaid Services (CMS). And business — his ties to key corporations — is
a big reason why.
Dr. Oz’s time as a TV doctor included marketing partnerships with Big
Pharma company Novo Nordisk. As head of CMS, he’d be in charge of making
decisions that could be very lucrative for pharmaceutical companies.^1 Dr.
Oz also has investments in CVS and UnitedHealth,^2 companies that could
reap major financial gains based on Oz’s decisions.
These conflicts of interest are disqualifying. The Senate must stop his
confirmation.

“Having ongoing financial ties to a health-care company would create a
disincentive to do the job the American people need done by the person in
his position,” said a former government ethics official in The Washington
Post.^3
Along with these conflicts of interest, Oz is a proponent of Medicare
privatization,^4 which would destroy Medicare as we know it and enrich the
insurance corporations he’s invested in.
In order to protect Medicare from corporate interests, the Senate must
stop Trump and Dr. Oz.
