COUNTDOWN TO TRUMP’S INAUGURATION: 41 DAYS

Left-wing Hate

The man who murdered United Healthcare’s CEO last week was the valedictorian of an elite private high school and an Ivy League graduate. He is also a Marxist who hates American free enterprise. This coward assassinated Brian Thompson, the father of two, by shooting him in the back.

Everyone should condemn this act of cold-blooded murder. But a disgusting number of leftists, including some in the media, tried to turn the murderer into a hero. Some said this assassination was long overdue. Others called for more assassinations of corporate CEOs.

One so-called “journalist,” Taylor Lorenz, was just fired for praising this assassination. Now we’re learning that she was one of the assassin’s social media followers.

Don’t dismiss this as just a few fringe leftists in the media. Most of the media establishment is not telling you the truth about leftist violence: This murderer was a violent Marxist, and political violence in America is a problem mostly of the left.

It was leftists who tried to burn down U.S. cities during the 2020 “social justice” riots.

It was violent pro-abortion leftists who attacked churches, crisis pregnancy centers, and pro-life ministries after Roe v. Wade was overturned.

The two men who tried to assassinate Donald Trump were politically on the left.

This week, after Daniel Penny was acquitted, leftists called for his death and anti-white vigilantism.

Leftist transgender radicals have committed or attempted multiple mass shootings in recent years, but their trans radicalism is always unreported by the media.

Today, antisemitism, including violent attacks on Jews, is largely coming from leftists on our university campuses and in big “progressive” cities.

Left-wing violence is growing, and it’s a growing danger to our constitutional Republic.

Grassley Gets It

We often complain about establishment Republicans who don’t have a lot of fight in them. But one senator who does have “fight” is Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley.

Iowa’s mild-mannered senior senator maintains a relatively low profile, but he’s willing to take on the Deep State in ways that others won’t, and he fights like a “junkyard dog.”

I was thinking about Sen. Grassley today while reading a letter he wrote to FBI Director Christopher Wray. It’s a perfect example of how every GOP senator should conduct themselves. Here are a few excerpts of his letter:

“Seven years ago, I presided over your confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee. . . The Senate confirmed you to your current position in hopes you’d bring needed change to the FBI. . .

“With seven years of water under the bridge, you’ve failed in these fundamental duties as director. . . These failures are serious enough and their pattern widespread enough to have shattered my confidence in your leadership.”

Sen. Grassley goes on to outline those failures for 11 pages!

Grassley sent his letter to Director Wray yesterday. This morning, it was reported that Wray intends to resign before Donald Trump’s inauguration to avoid being fired.

Braggin’ Biden

As part of Joe Biden’s ongoing effort to fritter away any credibility he had left after his years of misgovernance, he rushed to a microphone yesterday to take credit for the fall of the Assad regime in Syria.

Here’s what you need to know: Biden has been doing everything he could to save the Assad regime, especially through his constant appeasement of Assad’s main ally, Iran. For Biden to suddenly take credit for his overthrow is ludicrous!

The Biden administration did far more to try to overthrow and undermine the government of Bibi Netanyahu over these last four years than they did to overthrow the government of Syria.

Confirmation Contradictions

When Joe Biden occupied the Oval Office, he nominated several left-wing radicals for key cabinet nominations. For example:
  • Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg – “Mayor” Pete’s left-wing views were well-known after his 2020 presidential primary campaign. Far less known were his qualifications to manage the nation’s transportation infrastructure. (Just ask the folks of East Palestine, Ohio.) He was confirmed 86 to 13.
  • Secretary of State Antony Blinken – A left-wing foreign policy “expert” and Democrat operative, Blinken organized the Deep State letter calling Hunter Biden’s laptop “Russian disinformation.” Blinken was confirmed 78 to 22.
  • Attorney General Merrick Garland – Barack Obama’s nominee to the Supreme Court. Enough said. Garland was confirmed 70 to 30.
  • Secretary of Education Michael Cordona – He was a well-known advocate for allowing boys pretending to be girls to use girls’ bathrooms. His transgender extremism wasn’t a secret to anybody when Biden nominated him. Cardona was confirmed 64 to 33.
  • Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas – Having served in the Obama/Biden administration, his left-wing views on immigration were no secret. Mayorkas was confirmed 56 to 43.
  • Assistant Secretary of Health and Human Services “Rachel” Levin – A man pretending to be a woman was confirmed to a top “health” position 52 to 48.
  • Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra – This radical left-wing loon from California isn’t just “pro-choice,” he is aggressively pro-abortion. He prosecuted pro-life activists and persecuted pro-life organizations. He’s also 100% committed to forcing transgender insanity on our kids. He was confirmed 50 to 49. His department just celebrated “Pansexual and Panromantic Pride Day,” whatever the heck that is.

No Democrat senator voted against these nominees, no matter how far-left they were. There was never any question that they would be confirmed.

Democrats understand the fight for power. They want their side to win. Eager to advance their radical agenda, Democrats clearly were united behind these extremists.

Why aren’t Republican senators uniting behind Trump’s nominees? They clearly do not understand how the “game” is played.

Disappointing Decision

Every year, the Supreme Court gets between 7,000 and 8,000 requests to hear cases. It accepts approximately 80 because that is all they can adjudicate in a court term. Four justices have to agree that a case is worth hearing. The overwhelming majority of cases are passed over.

That fact doesn’t make it any less disappointing that there were not four justices who thought a parental rights case from Wisconsin was worth hearing.

In this controversy, real parents and real children are being harmed by leftist teachers and ideologues, who are making decisions about a child’s “gender identity” without their parents having any right to be told.

This outrageous effort to hide vital information from parents is not limited to just one school district in Wisconsin. These anti-child, anti-parent, anti-science policies are in effect all across the country.

To me and to the parents impacted, this is an emergency!

I don’t want to speculate too much, but there is a major case pending now before the court on the transgender issue. Maybe they just didn’t want to take another one. But I certainly hope that the rejection of the Wisconsin case isn’t an indication of future outcomes in similar cases.

God bless Justices Thomas, Alito, and Kavanaugh for wanting to take up this parental rights case. To Justices Roberts, Gorsuch, and Barrett: What’s up?

Encouraging Victory

After weeks of discussions, congressional negotiators recently released the final version of the 2025 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). I am pleased to report that it contains a number of conservative policy victories. For example:
  • It strips out the requirement that women register for the draft. Apparently, Sen. Joni Ernst was pushing to draft women, but conservatives insisted that the language be removed.
  • It nukes the DEI bureaucracy at the Pentagon.
  • It cuts off funding for Pentagon programs that promote climate change and critical race theory.
  • It ends the absurd witch hunt for “right-wing extremists” in the military.
  • It allows the Pentagon to deny funds to groups that boycott Israel.
  • It also prevents taxpayer-funded sterilizing drugs and mutilating transgender surgeries on the minor children of military personnel.

Of course, the LGBTQ lobby is furious. But Speaker Mike Johnson stood strong, saying:

“Taxpayer dollars should never be used to support procedures and treatments that could permanently harm and sterilize young people. In this year’s NDAA, we’re taking a critical and necessary step to protect the children of American service members from radical gender ideology and experimental drugs.”

One of the biggest disappointments was that conservatives were not able to end taxpayer funding of “abortion travel” for military personnel in pro-life states.

But the fact that these victories were won may be some evidence that a few Democrats are no longer willing to die on the hill of woke cultural extremism.
