This is our last chance to ask our representatives to stand up against this blatant undermining of election results.
Despite its name, Senate Bill (S.B.) 382 is not a hurricane relief bill. It merely shuffles money around in Raleigh. Governor Cooper has called this bill a “sham” and calls on the legislature to provide more aid to Western NC.
After losing in statewide races, the Republican party is seeking to hoard power before they lose the supermajority in the NC House. This bill strips power from the governor and attorney general, sets an unrealistic deadline for counting mail-in and provisional ballots, and unconstitutionally removes checks and balances in our court system.
Tell your legislators to give more aid to WNC!
To protect our environment, we need a representative democracy. We urge you to stand with us against this power grab.
