Friend,Today is Human Rights Day — so let’s take a moment to reflect on the values that unite us: equality, freedom, and dignity for all. These values must hold true for every person, everywhere.
On this day in 1948, the United Nations proclaimed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. A monumental achievement, this document proclaimed that we all have certain inalienable rights regardless of race, color, religion, or any other status.
The theme of this year's Human Rights Day is "Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now." And even 76 years later, we must remember the importance of these fundamental human rights in our lives. As we observe this day, it’s clear that our work is far from over.
Inequality persists. Rights are overlooked. Voices are unheard. Our team is committed to amplifying these voices, protecting everyone’s rights, and pushing for change.
We strive for a world that truly embodies the ideals written out in that declaration. Let’s honor the legacy of this day by taking action and continuing the fight for justice every single day.
With optimism,
Team Swalwell
