In 2015, 21 young Americans filed a first-of-its-kind constitutional climate lawsuit against the U.S. government. Juliana v. United States challenges the U.S. government’s role in driving climate change as unconstitutional and seeks declaratory relief from federal fossil fuel policies that cause ongoing harm to children’s physical health and safety.

For nearly a decade, the Juliana 21 have asked the courts to hear their case and recognize and enforce their rights to life and a livable climate. And for nearly a decade, their own government has abused its power and misused the law to silence them.

THE JULIANA 21 ARE ASKING TO BE HEARD.

More than that, they’re asking SCOTUS to clarify once and for all the role of the courts in intervening in unconstitutional government conduct that causes harm to children, young people, and anyone who calls this country home.

Our constitutional democracy was built on three branches of government, so we’d have the courts—to interpret the Constitution and define and secure our rights as the world grew and changed around us.

If we don’t protect the integrity of our judicial process to allow young people to access justice when their rights are violated, we strip the meaning of fundamental rights entirely.

Play your part in getting this historic case – America's climate case – back on track to trial. Join TODAY'S digital rally on social media and help amplify the voices of the Juliana 21 and youth across the nation who demand the protection of their rights!
