Dear John, leg days are here, tell your legislators to act on climate! |
Today is the first day of December Legislative days and Oregon’s legislative session starts in just over a month and together we can make it a monumental one. This year our legislators will have to stand strong on climate without federal support, under a Trump presidency. I will be meeting with legislators all week about how important it is for them to lead on climate and environmental issues because of expected attacks on our natural resource agencies and important climate programs. You can help by thanking our state leaders and holding them accountable for making progress on climate. Will you take a moment to send a message to our legislators to remind them of the importance of taking action on climate leading up to session?

States across the country are looking to see what states like us will do this next year. Oregon has a history of leading on climate, and that’s one that we are not ready to give up any time soon. By sending your message today, we can urge our legislators to make Oregon the bright spot that it is for climate action.
For this upcoming session, Oregon will have pro-environment supermajorities in both the House and Senate, providing us with a great time to take action for our environment and climate. It’s time for our legislators to: - Pass a transportation package that centers climate and equity;
- Deliver for consumers on reducing utility rates;
- Strengthen our communities’ climate resiliency;
-
And, fight for life sustaining essentials like our clean water.
