Dan Esty is a professor of environmental policy and law at Yale and the author or editor of numerous books and articles on sustainability and environmental issues, including the recent (edited) volume, A BETTER PLANET: 40 BIG IDEAS FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE. Dan has served in various leadership positions at the EPA under President George H.W. Bush and as head of the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection from 2011-2014. There he led regulatory reform efforts and established the state's Green Bank, which shifted the model for clean energy finance from subsidies to private capital.
