MJ was awarded a Purple Heart and a Distinguished Flying Cross with Valor after being injured in a rescue mission on her third tour in Afghanistan. Her injuries prevented her from continuing her military career. She understands the importance of health care being affordable and accessible for all, and is a strong supporter of Obamacare.
