Did you miss our recent webinar, Abortion Care and Access in 2025? Don’t worry—you can still catch up! Now, more than ever, understanding the shifting landscape of abortion access is critical. At Reproaction, we’ve faced these challenges before—confronting urgent threats to abortion rights from an administration hostile to reproductive freedom. Our experience proves that no matter what the anti-abortion lobby throws at us, we will persevere. We refuse to be intimidated, and we will continue in our fight for reproductive justice.
Comedian, disruptor-extraordinaire Lizz Winstead and Abortion Access Front crisscross the U.S. to support abortion clinic staff and bust stigma. Pop culture icons and next-gen comics fuel this six-year road film activating small-town folks to rebuild vandalized clinics, exposing wrongdoer politicians, anti-abortion extremists, and media neglect as the race to the bottom ensues. A bold call to action reminds us that even as our rights burn down, joy will prevail.
Self-care is an intentional practice that roots us in the present despite the oppression we may face. Regular self-care is essential for sustainable and effective activism.
Here are our self-care tips for December:
Get on the waitlist! This time of year, as newspapers publish their best books of the year lists, I like to put myself on the waitlist at my local library for the ones I want to read. They usually come in at different times allowing you to finish each one and it's also a nice surprise when you get the email telling you it's your turn. – Liz Skoski, Director of Development and Operations
Let the audiobook do the work! Listening to In The Dream House: A Memoir by Carmen Maria Machado has been such an amazing experience. It’s a whirlwind of emotions, exploring what it means to be queer and a woman in this world. A quote that truly stuck with me was: “This is how emotions work, right? They get tangled and complicated? They take on their own life? Trying to control them is like trying to control a wild animal: no matter how much you think you’ve taught them, they’re willful. They have minds of their own. That’s the beauty of wildness.” This beautifully encapsulates the raw, untamed nature of emotions. I encourage you to dive into audiobooks, you never know what could be relatable! - Jacqueline, Senior Outreach Coordinator
Do something festive! As it starts to get colder it is harder and harder to find reasons to go outside. I suggest taking advantage of all of the festive activities that can get you out of the house; ice skating, holiday markets, or just looking at the lights! – Laila, Lead Organizer
