The Olga May Wong Policy Fellowship is a part-time, paid position ($15/hour, 266 hours max) that will support OCA’s national policy, advocacy, and organizing strategy and programming. The ideal candidate should have at least 1-3 years of undergraduate or working experience in policy analysis, community organizing, and/or program facilitation. This position can be in-person in Washington, D.C. or remote from anywhere in the U.S., with a start date of early Q1 2025.

We are still accepting applications for our 2025 Summer Internship Program! Undergraduate students (and recent grads) who identify as Asian American, Native Hawaiian, or Pacific Islander are highly encouraged to apply. This is a full-time, paid internship based in Washington, D.C. from June 2-August 8, 2025. Interns will gain valuable work experience at congressional offices, federal agencies, for-profit corporations, and nonprofits, while participating in various leadership and professional development, and personal enrichment, programming. The final deadline to apply is January 5, 2025.Â
The Foundation 649 Scholarship is a grant of $4,000 for incoming Asian American and Pacific Islander college students over the course of 4 years that can be applied to college tuition and expenses.

November 17: OCA Greater Tucson Fundraising Gala: Community Legacies  at Desert Diamond Casino
We celebrated the return to full programming the COVID hiatus. Over 100 guests enjoyed a fabulous silent auction with luxury accessories and jewelry, Chinese ceramics and musical instruments, works by Asian American authors including Corky Lee’s photo book, and gift certificates. A live jazz trio entertained during the auction which was followed by some of Desert Diamond Casino’s tastiest Chinese entrees, sushi, and Korean beef. Gary Low was posthumously honored with the Unsung Hero Award. His widow, Sim, and two sons accepted on his behalf. Wendy Karahalios shared personal remembrances of Gary, Lupita Murillo, was honored with the inaugural Community Beacon Award for her brilliant work as criminal investigator for 50 years at TV station KVOA. Scholarship awardees were Tommy X. Zhan, Senior, Information Sciences, University of Arizona; and Lady Dorothy Elli, Graduate Student, M. Public Health, University of Arizona. Both were recognized for their community leadership on campus organizations and in AANHPI community organizations. Distinguished guests included Barry Wong, Executive Director, Arizona Governor’s Office of Equal Opportunity (2015-2023); Dr. Jaime Gutierrez, Arizona State Senator (1979-1993); Emily Bridson, President, League of Women Voters Greater Tucson; and Mabel Menard, President OCA Greater Chicago. Entertainment included original keyboard compositions performed by composer Allen Miller, EVP, Korean Sounds of Thunder of Tucson, and Siva Maia Polynesian Dancers.
OCA - New York Chapter
For this past general election, OCA-NY Chapter canvassed over 3,300+ doors and 5000+ Asian American community members to encourage them to exercise their right to vote and provide voters with important in-language resources. This work isn’t just about one election – it’s about building lasting power, creating change, and strengthening our communities for generations to come.
