At 1,813 pages, the latest version of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) isn't exactly light reading, but the fact that Congress has a bipartisan bill at all is as close as it gets to a Christmas miracle. While the proposal's been on the front-burner of most leaders' priorities, no one was quite sure if the two sides would be able to hammer out a deal before the holidays. In the end, they not only managed to agree on the text, but conservatives won a string of victories in the process. |

The day after Thanksgiving, Britain took one step deeper into what some have called the "industry of death." While that title is usually associated with the abortion industry, in this case, it refers to assisted suicide. On November 29, British lawmakers advanced a bill by a 330 to 275 vote in the House of Commons meant to legalize assisted dying in England and Wales. This is the first time in nearly a decade that lawmakers in the U.K. have voted on this matter. |

GOP Senator Introduces 'STOP Act' to Outlaw Gender Procedures on Minors |

Senator Roger Marshall (R-Kan.) recently introduced a bill in Congress that would outlaw trans procedures for minors and punish the doctors who perform them with civil penalties of up to $100,000. The Safeguarding The Overall Protection of Minors Act or "STOP Act," which Marshall introduced last Wednesday, will prohibit sex-change procedures from being performed on minors and authorize the secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services to impose civil penalties on persons who "knowingly perform, attempt to perform, conspire to perform, or provide a referral for any gender transition procedure on a minor," according to the text of the proposed legislation. |
