Hi john,

Last month, my team sent a survey to hear what’s on your mind and what issues you and your family are talking about at the dinner table.

These surveys help inform my work in the Senate — I’m here to serve you and deliver for the people of Minnesota.

We heard from many people that they’re concerned about Social Security and Medicare benefits. I hear you — the GOP’s ongoing willingness to mess with these benefits to pass more tax cuts for corporations and the wealthiest Americans worries me.

Rest assured that my colleagues in the Senate and House will fight with everything we have to protect these benefits. We already increased Medicare's ability to negotiate prescription drug prices and took a number of other steps to bring down the cost of their medication for millions of Americans. We’re going to keep up that progress, not go back in time.

I also heard from many of you that the climate crisis is one of your highest concerns. One person wrote that their top priority is, “Healing Climate Crisis and its unjust consequences.”

I’ve heard that before — especially in our rural communities in Minnesota, which often bear the brunt of the climate crisis. I will work with anyone — Democrat, Republican, or Independent — to deliver relief and climate protections for our state. We need to preserve our state’s lakes and prepare our infrastructure for climate emergencies.

john, there’s no shortage of work ahead of us. So thanks for sharing your thoughts and supporting this work. I’ll need you now more than ever.

— Tina
