Hi John,
Today is International Anti-Corruption Day, and while we'd like to say the United States is a global leader in the fight against corruption, we can't.
In fact, the U.S. ranks 24th on the Corruption Perceptions Index, and 29th on the Democracy Index. Since 2020, America has earned the distinction of being considered a "backsliding democracy." It's clear we've got some work to do.
The United States has long been seen as a beacon of democracy around the world, a "shining city upon a hill." And while we've never fully achieved "a more perfect union," it should be possible to build a government that is accountable to the people and puts the interests of its citizens above all.
But corruption is infecting our government, allowing big money and special interests to buy political power, making it so politicians work for the extremely wealthy and well-connected, not us.
Let's do something about it.
Give today in honor of International Anti-Corruption Day and your match will be tripled! 100% of your donation will go directly to the frontlines of the fight.
3X the power to fight corruption, end big money's stranglehold, and help America become as good as its promise. 🇺🇸
