Dear Friend,
Remember when MomsRising held our first post-election community meeting a few weeks ago? We had feelings. We had to organize ideas and projects. We needed to be there for each other, to offer each other strength and encouragement, action steps, and to remind ourselves that we still have each other – and we’re powerful together.
And we’re not giving up! We’re meeting again later this week. Are you in?
We. Are. Not. Giving. Up.
As we move into 2025, the data shows we’re powerful together. One thing is clear – we’re not giving up on you, on us, and on what we can (and must) build together: Safe communities that welcome diversity. Affordable childcare. Maternal health equity. Reproductive freedoms. Paid family and medical leave after a new child arrives or serious health crisis strikes. Accessible homecare. Fair pay. Gun safety.
Do we know yet everything that’s going to happen and all of what we’ll need to do? No, of course not.
But do we have a pretty good idea what it’s going to take, and solid next steps that we can start taking now? You bet we do. And we can’t do it without you.
The future is still ours to co-create together – and there is significant power in our voices (which are over a million strong), in our stories, in us reaching out in our communities, in our persistence, and in our insistence on putting our hands on the moral arc of the universe and bending it toward justice. As we do this, we’re remembering Vice President Harris’s words:
"Sometimes the fight takes a while. That doesn't mean we won't win. The important thing is don't ever give up. Don't ever stop trying to make the world a better place. You have power." - Vice President Kamala Harris, November 6, 2024
Vice President Harris hasn’t given up, and neither have we.
Together, we’re the powerful, persistent, unstoppable force that our nation needs right now. See you at our community meeting.
