Joining the American Addiction Recovery Association for an Open Conversation About the Addiction Epidemic in America
Our country is experiencing an addiction epidemic unlike anything we have seen before. Overdose and fentanyl poisoning have now become the leading cause of death for Americans aged 18-45, and over 46 million people in the U.S. are currently battling addiction.
I joined the American Addiction Recovery Association in Tifton last week to have an open conversation about this serious issue and what we can all do to help those struggling with this epidemic.
If you or someone you love is struggling with addiction, I encourage you to visit here for resources and help.

Meeting with the National Pecan Federation
Did you know that Georgia is our nation's largest supplier of pecans? Our pecan farmers account for over one-third of national pecan production.
Unfortunately, Hurricane Helene heavily impacted many of our state's pecan orchards. Last week, I met with the National Pecan Federation in D.C. to discuss the critical need for disaster relief and expanded crop insurance options for specialty crops.
Meeting with Unified Defense
I also met with Unified Defense, a Georgia-based manufacturing company that specializes in ground support equipment, such as aircraft and industrial dollies, and service work.
They play a critical role in maintaining military aircraft.
