Hello Friend,

Right now, the New York State Energy Planning Board is doing exactly what their name says: crafting the State Energy Plan that New York will follow in coming years.

This is a huge opportunity to build a green economy in New York. A strong plan will prioritize our health, our safety, the affordability of energy, and our climate.

Unfortunately, the currently released Energy Plan Scope includes a set of false solutions, like greenwashed nuclear, hydrogen, and so-called “renewable” natural gas (which is better known as "more methane gas"). These will undermine everything this plan needs to do.

Fortunately, the New York State Energy Planning Board is collecting Public Comments from New Yorkers like you on the plan to incorporate. So, let's send enough comments demanding what we really need: energy efficiency, weatherization, more renewables, cleaner air, more comfortable homes, and affordable energy.

Use our comment tool to send a public comment and get the State Energy Plan New Yorkers need!

Second, today is the last day to send a public comment on the New York Power Authority's plan to build public renewables, made possible by the passage of the Build Public Renewables Act last year.

The Public Power NY coalition is calling for NYPA to build 15 gigawatts of public renewables, rather than the 3.5 gw currently proposed. 15 GW will make a major difference in getting the state back on track to our nation leading climate goals, as well as in shutting down polluting "peaker plants," lowering bills, and creating tens of thousands of green union jobs.

The comment period ends tonight at midnight, so make sure to use the commenting tool to send one today!
