Friend,
Every day, our nation’s heroes face the challenges of life after service—some of them living with devastating injuries, including paralysis. For many veterans, the battle doesn’t end when they return home. It’s a daily fight to regain independence, mobility, and a sense of normalcy.
But with your help, we can give these heroes the tools they need to take back their freedom and lead full, meaningful lives.
One such hero is Ignacio Montoya, an Air Force veteran whose life changed forever after a motorcycle accident in 2012 left him paralyzed from the chest down. Ignacio had dreamed of becoming a fighter pilot, but that tragic moment altered his path in an instant.
Despite the immense challenges he faced, Ignacio’s journey is nothing short of extraordinary.
Refusing to give in to his injury, he channeled his determination into a new mission: to push the boundaries of what’s possible for people living with paralysis. Ignacio became a research scientist, using his own body as part of an experimental training program that combines biomedical robotics with cutting-edge physical therapy. Over the course of 12 months, Ignacio covered 655 miles using a robotic orthosis—transforming his spinal cord injury from complete to incomplete.
His story is one of perseverance, innovation, and hope. Today, Ignacio is a leader in paralysis research, holding multiple advanced degrees and continuing to defy expectations as he walks thousands of steps using exoskeleton technology. Yet, despite his incredible progress, Ignacio still faces daily challenges that could be solved with the help of the iBOT Personal Mobility Device.
The iBOT is a revolutionary device that does more than just provide mobility—it restores freedom. Unlike traditional wheelchairs, the iBOT allows users to navigate difficult terrains like sand, stairs, and uneven surfaces. For Ignacio, who lives in Marina Del Rey, California, the iBOT would give him the ability to walk on the beach he’s lived next to for years but hasn’t been able to fully enjoy. And in emergencies, when the building’s elevators shut down, the iBOT would give him the ability to safely exit his third-floor apartment, something that currently requires waiting for the fire department to assist.
This incredible device would not only provide Ignacio with greater independence, but it would also enhance his safety and quality of life.
But Ignacio isn’t alone. Thousands of veterans across the country are living with mobility challenges similar to his. These men and women sacrificed so much for our freedom, and now they need our help to reclaim theirs.
Will you donate $35, $50, or even $100 or more today to help provide an iBOT Personal Mobility Device to veterans like Ignacio?
Your gift will not just provide a tool for mobility—it will give these veterans the freedom to live their lives on their own terms.
Over the past 15 years, SoldierStrong has stood by our veterans, providing them with state-of-the-art medical technology that helps them overcome the physical and emotional challenges of life after service. From SoldierSuits that allow paralyzed veterans to walk again, to iBOTs that offer freedom of movement, to BraveMind systems that treat PTSD, our programs are making a real difference.
But we can’t do it without patriots like you.
