Dear John,
As we head toward 2025, Ground Game Texas is committed to the fight for progressive values across the state. Despite a hostile electoral climate that saw disappointing returns at both the state and federal levels, Ground Game’s ballot initiatives won across the board this November.
We know that when Texans have the opportunity to vote for clear measures designed to improve the lives of everyday people, they turn out. Our campaigns engage both low frequency and first-time voters, two groups that are crucial to transforming Texas into a state that reflects the will of its people.
With Donald Trump back in office in the coming year, this work matters more than ever, and we need your help to make sure that we can defend our past victories, and continue to build on them.
In Dallas, where an overwhelming majority of voters said yes to decriminalizing marijuana, our work is once again under attack by Attorney General Ken Paxton. Paxton has filed yet another baseless lawsuit to try to force Dallas to go back to a broken system of locking people up for simple possession of marijuana.
We’ve beaten Paxton before – in Travis and Hays Counties, judges dismissed his lawsuits trying to overturn our wins in Austin and San Marcos – and we can do it again, with your support. A contribution to Ground Game Texas supports a team that knows change takes place on multiple fronts. From organizing the communities we serve to defending their rights in court, we are dedicated to this fight.
