John, it’s Team Rouse –
Aaron Rouse is running for Lieutenant Governor to hold the line against Donald Trump’s extreme agenda and defend your rights. We set the ambitious goal to raise $10,000, and we’re just $1,245 short. That’s why we’re extending our deadline by one day to help us reach it.
If you haven’t had the opportunity to hear Aaron’s story, read on. But if you’re already on board, will you help us hit our $10,000 goal by chipping in $10 now?

You might know me as Aaron Rouse, the football player. But the truth is, there’s more to my story.
I’m going to tell you how I got here and why I’m running to be Virginia’s next Lieutenant Governor. But first, will you help us hit our $10,000 fundraising goal to start 2025 strong?
I grew up in Virginia Beach in low-income housing. I started working when I was ten years old to help support my family and never stopped. I rode my bike across town to mow lawns, wash buses, pour concrete – whatever I could do to help us make ends meet.
The basketball court was one of the few places where I could just be a kid. So when the city decided to demolish it, I knew that was wrong. But my mom told me that the best way to make a difference and stand up for my community was to work hard and get my education.
She was right. Her words set me on a path to becoming the first in my family to go to college. I went to Virginia Tech on a football scholarship (go Hokies!) and all the way to the NFL.
After my football career, I returned home and ran for Virginia Beach City Council. I took on the establishment and won, against the odds, with a historic vote margin in a crowded race. On Council, I stood up for my community, advocating for our schools, our economy and our safety – and we built a new basketball court in my childhood neighborhood, Friendship Village.
Then, when Republicans tried to ban abortion in the Commonwealth, I ran for the tie-breaking seat in the state senate — and won again, solidifying a pro-choice majority in the Virginia Senate.
Now, I’m running for Lieutenant Governor because, for too many people across the Commonwealth, the old Virginia way isn’t working. Instead, it’s focused on political division, outrage, and extremism that threatens to undo our progress.
If you’re ready for a new generation of leadership for the Commonwealth, will you support my campaign and help us reach our $10,000 goal? I can’t do this without you.
Yours in service,
Aaron R. Rouse
