In June 2024, Darcy attended a local Pride Festival where she peacefully voiced her concerns about minors being exposed to a sexualized drag show. Exercising her right to free speech, she engaged in a respectful dialogue. However, instead of protecting her constitutional rights, law enforcement officers declared her speech "unacceptable." They pursued her to her home, intimidating her for speaking out.

This incident is a stark reminder that our First Amendment rights are not guaranteed unless we stand up for them. The Pacific Justice Institute (PJI) has filed a federal lawsuit on Darcy's behalf to defend her rights and set a precedent that free speech cannot be suppressed.
