Standing With Small Businesses
I led 11 members of Congress in a letter to the U.S. Department of Treasury Secretary, Janet Yellen, and Financial Crimes Enforcement Network Director, Andrea Gacki, expressing concerns regarding the Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) reporting requirements under the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA), which will impose more regulations on small businesses nationwide. Only 14.2% of small businesses in Texas have submitted compliance with the BOI rule. This low compliance rate highlights that many small businesses are unaware of these reporting requirements or are struggling to navigate BOI’s complexity. Instead of threatening to penalize law-abiding mom and pop shops, FinCEN should consider repealing the BOI requirements altogether or take immediate steps to ensure small businesses are adequately informed and equipped to comply. Joined the DOGE Caucus
It is no secret that the size and scope of the federal government has grown too large. Since my first day in Congress, I have fought for a smaller government with less burdensome red tape and reckless spending. As Chairman of the House Committee on Small Business, I am proud to join the bicameral DOGE Caucus to dismantle out-of-control bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and help restructure federal agencies. I am proud to work alongside President Trump, Elon Musk, and Vivek Ramaswamy. Together, we will make the government more efficient for Main Street.
Financial Services Committee
This week, the House Committee on Financial Services held the last hearing of the Patrick McHenry Chairmanship. I am proud to call him a friend and will always admire his leadership in the halls of Congress. During the hearing, we discussed how technology is shaping the future of finance as artificial intelligence grows and expands. Watch my line of questioning here.
In Case You Missed It!
I joined WBAP radio to discuss the top issues facing our nation. Woke left-wing ideology and the effects of the Biden-Harris border crisis and failed economy continue to wreak havoc on hard working Americans. President Trump and Republicans are working together to restore national security and a thriving economy to get our country back on track. Listen here.
