Members of the Broward Democratic Executive Committee (DEC) met on Saturday December 7th at the Lauderdale Lakes Multipurpose Center for its Reorganizational Meeting to elect a new board to lead the organization for the 2024-2028 term. Chair Rick Hoye was re-elected for another four-year term against former State Committeeman and Dolphin Democrats President, Alfredo Olvera.
“I am grateful and excited for the privilege to represent the Broward Democratic Executive Committee for another term. I would like to congratulate our new and returning Board members. I look forward to working with them, as well as those who put themselves forward to run for leadership in our organization, said Hoye regarding his re-election.
The Broward DEC and its members are responsible for the voter turnout of the county’s over 500,000 democrats and work to elect democratic candidates at the municipal, county, state, and national levels. An Organizational Meeting is held every four years in December after the Presidential Elections to elect its Chair and Board Members.
