The transition from the collapse of the Trans-Atlantic system to a New Paradigm is a very tumultuous one, and one fraught with extreme danger. We stand at the edge of total nuclear extinction as a species, but we also stand at the edge of a Renaissance, a rebirth of what it means to be human.

In order to discuss the necessary solutions to the world crisis, the Schiller Institute is holding an extremely important international online conference this weekend, December 7-8th, titled: “In the Spirit of Schiller and Beethoven: All Men Become Brethen!” <[link removed]> Many prominent speakers are addressing the topics of world war, the New Paradigm, and the necessary economic and cultural ideas for creating a new just economic system which would benefit every nation, and all human beings in the world. On the stage of global history, there are some actors who are refusing to be tragic and are playing a very important role. One such person is Tucker Carlson, who held an interview with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov <[link removed]> this last week. The timing of the interview is extremely important as it will reach millions of Americans who are otherwise being left in the dark as to the horrific dangers presently before us as well as to the possibilities of peace. In the last exchange, Carlson asked Lavrov:

What you’re saying is American policymakers imagine there could be a nuclear exchange that doesn’t directly affect the United States, and you’re saying that’s not true.



To which Lavrov responded:

That’s what I said, yes. But professionals in deterrence, nuclear deterrence policy, they know very well that it’s a very dangerous game. And to speak about limited exchange of nuclear strikes is an invitation to disaster, which we don’t want to have.



The unfolding crisis in Syria, as well as other erupting hotspots around the world, must also be seen as a result of the West's desperation in reaction to the collapse of their system. Helga Zepp-LaRouche described the situation in her weekly webcast from December 4th: 

...you have the absolutely dramatic situation in Syria, where sort of out of the blue—obviously, not on the ground, but from the standpoint of a western observer out of the blue—was a massive attack by new terrorist organizations, the so-called Hayat Tahrir al-Sham’s, or HTS, which is short for an Arabic name which is a rebranding of the al-Qaeda/al-Nusra organizations, supported, according to Sen. Richard H. Black, by the United States and even by the CIA. 



She further elaborated that HTS is on a massive offensive against the government forces of President Bashar al-Assad, while Russia and Iran are supporting the Assad government. However, Iran seems to be showing restraint because they are aware that once they enter the picture it could be taken as a pretext to bomb Iran's nuclear facilities. 

Another person who is bringing the danger of thermonuclear world war to the attention of the American people is former UN weapons inspector, Scott Ritter, who organized an event at the National Press Club <[link removed]> on December 7th.   

What can you do in addition to watching these important events from this weekend? Call your congressman <[link removed]> and tell them they must do everything in their power to stop the use of ATACMS and this suicidal march to Nucear World War III. In order to overcome the danger of war for good, we need to establish a new international security and development architecture, which takes into account the interests of every single country on the planet. This should be done in the tradition of the Peace of Westphalia, which ended 150 years of religious wars in Europe, because the warring parties realized that there would be nobody left alive if the fighting continued. How much more is that true in the age of thermonuclear weapons!

In order to put such a new architecture before humanity, the Schiller Institute is convening an international online conference Dec. 7-8, with leading representatives and experts of the Collective West and the Global South to discuss the principles on which such a new architecture must be based. We will also provide an example of the dialogue of cultures and civilizations, with beautiful samples of great art from various nations, to show the way to establish a civilization based, not on hatred, but on love.

Schiller Institute Releases New Pamphlet:

As a strategic intervention meant to knock the world off its current trajectory towards short-term military and economic Armageddon between two irreconcilable blocs—that of the bankrupt Western powers running the U.K, the U.S. and NATO, on the one hand; and that of the emerging Global Majority, including Russia and China, on the other—Schiller Institute founder Helga Zepp-LaRouche commissioned a study under the title: “Development Drive Means Billions of New Jobs, No Refugees, No War.”

It makes the case that a solution to the current showdown is readily at hand if the nations of the West join with the BRICS grouping to ensure the rapid industrialization of the whole planet. It emphasizes that this approach also provides the only possible solution to the migrant crisis sweeping the Americas and Europe: Develop the impoverished nations of the South to productively employ their labor force at home.

In her weekly webcast, Schiller Institute founder Helga Zepp-LaRouche observed that “what we see right now is an unbelievable destabilization of the entire world architecture…. One has the feeling that the entire foundation of the world—the world system as we have known it in even the recent period—is shaking, is crumbling.” She also made the point that: “the world has never been closer to the danger of nuclear extinction.”
