Hello John,

Thank you for your continued support in my bid for the United States Senate.
It is because of people like you that we will send Cory Gardner home to Yuma,
Colorado and take back the Senate for the Democrats in 2020.

Make no mistake, despite growing frustrations with Donald Trump and Cory
Gardner, this race won’t be an easy one. Gardner has deep pockets, and
Republican mega-donors like the Koch Brothers and even President George W. Bush
are lining up to support his campaign. But if the people of Colorado stand
together, we can and will win this race.

"The face of violent extremism in Colorado, almost without exception, has been
white supremacists. That's an issue we have to look in the eye and address
forthrightly."

Today, I am proud to announce a comprehensive National Violence Prevention &
Domestic Terrorism Strategy, inspired and informed by the work I did serving in
President Barack Obama's Administration.

We've seen that the costs of inaction are too high. We must take steps to
prevent gun violence and fight domestic terrorism. In the Senate, I'll lead on
these issues.

“I don’t support gun control.” - Senator Cory Gardner said earlier this week.

That’s the kind of response you’d expect from a politician who has taken over
$3.88 million from the corporate gun lobby. We can’t afford a Senator who sits
back and does nothing while the carnage of gun violence continues. Cory Gardner
is part of the problem.

The only way we’re going to make progress on this issue is to replace the
Republicans in Washington who have failed time and time again to take action.

TRAVELING ACROSS COLORADO <[link removed]>
This month, I've been traveling all across Colorado. I wanted to share some
pictures from events in Gunnison, Crested Butte, Paonia, Gothic, and Aspen. I
want to give a big thanks to everyone who hosted our events and to all the
Coloradans taking a stand for our Democracy.
WHERE WE'RE GOING NEXT
While serving as our Senator, Cory Gardner has neglected to hear concerns or
take questions from  his constituents. Unlike Gardner, I will be hitting the
road this weekend meeting with voters in Western Colorado and meetings and
events that are open to all..
August 16: Mesa County <[link removed]>
My team and I will be visiting Mesa County this weekend to speak with the
people of Grand Junction. I want to thank the Mesa County Democrats for
welcoming me to their office and for the opportunity to speak to members of the
community. I look forward to sharing my ideas for a better Colorado with the
people of Grand Junction!

August 17: Palisade Peach Festival & Montrose County
<[link removed]>
On Saturday, we will be in Palisade, celebrating a tradition spanning 126
years at the Palisade Peach Festival <[link removed]>. We will
be visiting the festivities starting at 9AM.  Come say, “hello” and enjoy some
peaches with us!

Later that same day, I will be meeting with the Montrose County Democrats to
talk about the issues and concerns they are facing in their community. I want
to thank The Coffee Trader for hosting our “meet and greet.”

August 18: La Plata County <[link removed]>
We will be wrapping up our trek at Chris Park outside of Durango, where the La
Plata County Democrats will be hosting a picnic. I am incredibly excited to
visit one of my favorite places in the state and to speak with the people of
Durango and La Plata County.

If you have a chance to attend any of these events, stop by, say hello, and
share your thoughts. Hopefully, I will get to see many of you on the campaign
trail in the coming weeks and months.

Thank you for all the support,

-John Walsh
