Earlier this year, we commended Biden for halting exports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from fracking, and this month, the Department of Energy (DOE) under his administration will be releasing a study on the environmental and economic impacts of fracked gas. Now, before he leaves office, we need President Biden to reject six LNG projects that are awaiting permits from the DOE. If Biden rejects the permits, LNG companies would still have 30 days to file for an appeal. But so long as Biden acts before this Monday, Dec 9th, the appeals will take place before Trump takes office, and we’ll have a better shot at stopping these climate-killing projects! Send a message to the Biden administration and demand that all LNG project permits are rejected before this Monday, December 9th. Even as the climate crisis worsens, the oil and gas industry is desperate to keep drilling and maintain its enormous profits, and Trump would love to see that happen. The U.S. is now the world's leading exporter of fracked gas, and the fracking industry is trying to export even more LNG. Food & Water Watch is working with a large coalition to oppose LNG projects. In the last few months, people like you have sent tens of thousands of messages to the White House, and hundreds of organizations and scientists have spoken out. Now, we need President Biden to stand with us and take action before he leaves office. Big Oil would sacrifice our food, water, and planet for their own profit — but together, we know we’re powerful enough to stop them. Tell President Biden: Block all LNG permits before Monday!
