The NYC public matching funds program was created to promote honest, publicly-funded grassroots campaigns.

Under this program, everyday New Yorkers can have a real impact on our local democracy through small donations (matched 8 to 1 up to $250).

But Mayor Adams is currently facing a federal indictment alleging he obtained $10 million in illegally solicited matching funds in 2021.

Not only is that a violation of federal law — it puts Mayor Adams’ ability to receive matching funds in 2025 in contention.
