Unless you've been living in a chicken coop, you've probably noticed that
the price of eggs has gotten really high. It's not just political
propaganda – [ [link removed] ]egg prices have increased almost 20% over the past year.
So, why exactly are eggs so expensive? Turns out it's a lot less about
individual politicians than it is about corporate greed and systemic
corruption. Just a few companies dominate the market, manipulate supply,
and lobby to crush competitors, all while consumers pay the price. Let's
break it down. 👇

[ [link removed] ]First, the facts. Just a handful of companies – we'll call them Big
Egg – dominate the market and have been found guilty of conspiring to
limit egg supplies and inflate prices. Not only that, some Big Egg
companies have committed outright bribery – an Iowa egg factory admitted
to distributing poisonous eggs and [ [link removed] ]bribing USDA officials to cover it
up.
And there's plenty of legal corruption happening too. Take lobbying, for
example. [ [link removed] ]Big Egg spends millions lobbying for policies that crush small
farmers and competition. And decades ago, the industry created "checkoff
programs," which were originally intended to promote farmers but have now
been weaponized by big corporations to drive consolidation, making it
harder for small producers to compete.

When industries manipulate supply and lobby to maintain monopolies,
corruption is nested into the system, and consumers pay the price.
