Dear Friend,

In 2024, states continued to implement bold climate solutions and enact policies driving the clean energy transition. Our latest annual Clean Energy For All: Clean Energy Success in the States report details the top stories of exciting progress in 31 states across the country and the vital work of our affiliated organizations in the Conservation Voters Movement.

We can’t ignore the importance of this moment as we prepare for the return of an anti-environment Trump administration. During Trump’s first term, he rolled back over 100 environmental protections, attacked climate science, and proposed massive giveaways to Big Oil. He has already made clear that he intends to try to do the same in his second term. However, in the face of those attacks, state leaders continue to prove they can and will lead on climate action to lower energy costs for families, create millions of jobs, bring important revenue to communities, and safeguard public health by reducing pollution across the United States.

The 2024 Clean Energy Success in the States report offers hope for the future and shows that clean energy progress is happening everywhere, thanks in large part to the advocacy of LCV’s state affiliates. This progress is bringing benefits and opportunities to communities nationwide.

In 2024, states expanded access to solar power, made critical investments in the electricity grid, held utilities accountable to keep costs down for consumers, protected communities from fossil fuel pollution, and utilized transformative federal investments from the Inflation Reduction Act. In addition, the country’s first commercial-scale offshore wind project was completed, powering as many as 70,000 homes on Long Island with clean, renewable energy. Since we launched the Clean Energy for All program in 2018, more than 40% of people in the U.S. now live in places committed to 100% – up from 1% before we started.

There’s a lot to celebrate from this year, maybe even in your own state. Read the full Clean Energy For All: Clean Energy Success in the States report and learn more here.

Thank you for your continued support.
