Hi John,
President Biden was in Angola this week, a country on the West African
coast between Namibia and the Republic of the Congo. You might be
wondering...what’s with the geography lesson?
Well, this visit to Africa marks the first by a US president since 2015,
fulfilling a promise made during the US-Africa Leaders Summit to shape a
long-term relationship in the region. It also shows just how far the US
goes – literally and figuratively – to prioritize trade, investment, and
infrastructure in and with Africa.
With over 1 billion Africans under the age of 25, and with Africa’s youth
expected to represent 42% of the global youth population by 2030, Africa
needs about 15 million new jobs every year to harness this incredible
potential.
A key piece of legislation that tackles this issue must be reauthorized
next year and will be a big ONE priority in 2025.
So, John, if you agree that the
US must focus on a continued strong US-Africa partnership, [ [link removed] ]add your
