Dear John,
In the next year alone, the Department of Education will disburse over $100 billion in new loans and grant aid, effectively making it the largest consumer bank in the United States. Today, college graduates hold $1.6 trillion in federal loan debt. This has been fueled, in part, by loan forgiveness schemes that shift costs to taxpayers and colleges charging too much for certain degrees that do not yield strong earnings.
I want to hear your thoughts, should universities and colleges bear responsibility for the post-graduate employment and earnings of their students?
