Hi John, I know you've heard from me a lot this week but I have one more important thing to say to you before the weekend: Thank you. Thank you for being YOU and being dedicated to this movement. Thank you for stepping up when we need your support most.
My mom, Nancy, was always a stickler for thank-you notes: Before I could write, she asked that I draw a thank-you picture. I remember sitting at the dining room table after every birthday or holiday, with a list in front of me, and cards at the ready. And that’s what I wanted to send to you today.
So thank you, John. Thank you for your dedication to our fight to save lives from gun violence. For your dedication to this movement that is personal to me and so many others. My mom was murdered in her doorway 21 years ago and I don't want any other daughter or family to go through that loss and grief. I want my kids to grow up and inherit a better country than one riddled with gun violence.
And with your support, we're creating that safer future, John. It’s moments like this that remind me how powerful we can be when we come together – it’s the only way that we will finally free America from gun violence.
It is hard to say exactly what's ahead of us in this fight, especially with a gun lobby-backed president back in the White House, but I know that if we keep working together, we're going to win. Brady is ready to fight tooth and nail to protect gun laws and defeat the gun lobby in court. We are able to do this because of the support we receive in critical times like Giving Tuesday. So thank you again, John, for making our work possible.
This fight is more important than ever and I’m grateful to have you by our side.
Thank you again, John.
