Dear John,

This week I was back in Washington working for you following the Thanksgiving holiday. I hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving. As a first-generation American, I have so much to be grateful for.

In Congress this week I voted for legislation require greater transparency in federal regulations affecting small businesses, and to reduce the influence of the Chinese Communist Party. Aggression from the CCP remains the highest threat to our nation and to our allies across the globe.

Get the details about all of this and more below, and make sure to follow my FacebookInstagram, and X to get these updates in real-time.

Joining Allies in Deterring The CCP

The Chinese Communist Party remains our nation's greatest threat. The CCP has proven time and again that they intend to undermine our defense capabilities, intellectual property, educational institutions, and much more.

Strong allies in the Indo-Pacific are essential to deterring aggression from the CCP, something they have shown time and again to be capable of. The United States, South Korea, Japan, and other allies in the region can enhance our collective military strength and bring peace and stability to the region.
Recently, I wrote an op-ed on this very threat and the response that the United States must present to rising tyranny from the CCP. You can read that whole piece here.

This week, I joined my colleagues on the Select Committee on the CCP to discuss the CCP's current military capabilities and how the United States and our allies can best respond. You can find my comments here.

Celebrating Small Businesses Saturday

Last week, we celebrated Small Business Saturday, a chance to explore and uplift the small businesses in our communities.
Southern California is home to so many incredible small businesses. Coming from a family of small business owners, I know the heart and passion that it takes to support a business and serve your neighbors.

In Congress, I'm proud to support policies that uplift small businesses and our local economy, like cutting back red tape and eliminating burdensome taxes.
A strong local economy makes a strong region, and our small businesses are essential to that goal.

Remembering Pearl Harbor

This weekend, we remember the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. On that day, more than 2,400 Americans were killed in the surprise attack by Japan, leading to the United States' involvement in World War II.
December 7th is a day to remember the lives lost as well as the courage of our service members, including those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our freedoms.

In the 83 years since the Pearl Harbor attack, the United States has held firm in its commitment to defending Americans from tyrants who threaten our safety. As threats rise around the world today, we must not waver in that commitment.

In His New Term, Trump Must Aggressively Confront Communist China

Image

"At the recent gathering of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) in Peru, Leader of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Xi Jinping pledged to work with the incoming Trump Administration. Xi's cooperative pledge comes despite the CCP's recent cyberattacks targeting our telecommunications infrastructure, unprovoked maritime aggression, and worsening human rights abuses.

With rising threats from the CCP and their regional allies, President Trump will have his work cut out for him in the Asia Pacific Region. But these challenges provide an opportunity for the U.S. to reassert itself on the international stage, restore global stability, and defend the values of freedom."
